Odysseus is disguised as a beggar, returns to his home, and is accompanied only by Eumaeus. Argos, Odysseus' dog, who hasn't seen him for 20 years remembers him. He sees his owner unable to move and has no strength. Argos dies after seeing Odysseus. Odysseus was downcast after watching his dog die.
